It’s amazing what a bag of basil leaves can tempt you to do!  This was THE BEST cocktail experiment ever!

An English Summer

Ingredients:

25ml Gin

25ml Vodka

5ml Framboise

50ml Gomme (sugar syrup)

Handful of fresh basil leaves

Method:

In a cocktail shaker with several ice cubes, add the above ingredients.  Shake viciously until the basil is bashed and bruised, imbuing the spirits with a garden-green glow.  Strain into martini glasses and garnish with a berry or basil leaf (I thought a blackberry nestling into the bottom of the glass looked rather sweet.

N.B. – the cocktail looks much greener than this! My camera expertise is…non-existent!
